Boycott China. End tourism to China and more importantly, boycott Chinese goods.
Despite the claim of the pro-business types that democracy follows markets, China remains today a one-party dictatorship. The Chinese people are oppressed by the government and tolerate no dissension. We cannot, as a freedom loving democracy, support this system. They are not allies and they are not supporters of democracy. Please remember, the government is not its people. The Chinese people do not get to vote for their leaders as we do and dissention is swiftly put down. However by buying from overseas Chinese companies, we are putting money in the Chinese government’s pockets.
Most recently, the Chinese had a chance to nip this Covid-19 pandemic in the bud, but they were more worried about their appearance to the rest of the world than they were about saving the lives of their own people. 20 days after the appearance of the first Coronavirus case, the government began shutting down social media discussions on the new virus. They detained Dr. Li Wenliang, a whistleblower, for posting concerns over this SARS-like virus. This brave doctor has since passed away from contracting the Covid-19 virus himself.
Now we are fighting the coronavirus on our own soil and for a virus that is growing exponentially every day that the Chinese cost the world in terms of knowledge and preparedness is countless lives lost.
American taxpayers cannot continue to support China’s aggression in the hopes that we will win them over to democracy. With the U.S. economy grinding to a halt, we must start supporting American businesses over the Chinese government before its to late.
As tensions between Beijing and Washington widen, there has been a growing fear that China and the United States are entering a new cold war, but in truth we’ve been in one since before the Korean War (1950–1953) where the US pummeled North Korea all the way back to China border. Then by surprise China went on the offensive and attacked US troops at a ratio greater then 20 to 1. They knocked us back to what is known now as the 38th parallel DMZ before we could hold the line where North and South Korea still are technically at war.
Later, as tensions between North and South Vietnam bubbled over, the US tried to act as a mediator between the two sides until the north started attacking US troops. That was the beginning of the Vietnam war and China secretly sent in more than 320,000 troops in to fight against the US and South Vietnam. The US knew that China and the Soviet Union supplied tanks and anti-aircraft guns but we didn’t find out until 1989 that they’d secretly sent in troops until a document dump 1989.
Besides killing US troops for more than half a century they’re responsible for the deaths of over 100,000 U.S. citizens a year by manufacturing fentanyl in state-owned pharmaceutical manufacturing companies which they then ship to the US. As well, they damage and destroy U.S. businesses by violating US Patents and Copyrights, which they then turn around and sell to U.S. citizens. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency released the figures that in 2019 over 10% of all mail coming from China either contains Fentanyl or counterfeit goods. And they use the WTO trade agreement to lower their shipping cost so low that they can ship a pound of fentanyl from China to the US cheaper then an American can send a letter across the street in the same town. They are only able to do this because the US taxpayer picks up the bill for the outrageous shipping subsidies that China gets. The WTO designated China an emerging economy almost 20 years ago and this was supposed to help them develop, but dollar we put towards the Chinese economy has been allowing them to harm U.S citizens and allies and keep their own people oppressed.
Now, with the bungling of the novel Coronavirus, they are about to be responsible for countless more lives.
China remains a one-party dictatorship boasting one of the worst human rights records in the world. Their genocide of the Tibetan people and the persecution of Christians, Uighur Muslims and Buddhists alike are only a few of the reasons why the Chinese Communists should be boycotted.
Ruling by force and the threat of force, this government is a danger to its own people and to the world.
I urge all Americans, of both political parties, to join together in a nationwide boycott of all Chinese-made goods.
American consumers have to stop supporting a government that oppresses its own people and does so much damage to the rest of the world. We have to say, “We will not spend one penny on Chinese-made goods as long as they 1. Oppress there own people 2. Steal Intellectual Property and 3. Bully smaller nations.
Chinese leaders may defy international law, they may ignore human rights, but they will surely take notice when their supply of U.S. dollars begins to trickle off.
Most recently, they bungled the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus and now they’re trying to rewrite history by telling the world that the U.S. released the virus there. Let us remember that this is not the first act of aggression by the Communist Chinese against the United States. Nor will it be the last. It is simply part of a greater plan to break the back of the United States. In its drive for control in Asia and the rest of the world, China will continue its territorial expansion into the South China Sea and will increase its threats toward Taiwan. China is the only major country currently undertaking significant military expansion. This does not bode well for China’s neighbors, nor for the United States.
